The Last Joint of Marie Juana – A Hippie Crime Story
The year 1999 is drawing to a close, and the new millennium is approaching. Yet Sabine, a young-at-heart old hippie, and her child Michi remain in the flower power era. For Michi, however, the power is limited. Daily life is characterized by “Peace, Pot, and Free Love,” with marijuana playing a crucial role. In an atmosphere of tolerance, respect, and serenity, Sabine enjoys extensively discussing the essential questions of life: world peace, international understanding, the end of capitalism, and even the fear that the lights might go out on December 31 – due to IT systems.
The two don’t really agree on this, and they slowly long for change – they are ready for an escape. The invitation to the big millennium party “HIGH END” on the tiny island of Hellegraskog comes at just the right time. The island, owned by beach chair tycoon Tim le Ary, serves as the venue for a retreat to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Woodstock. The spirit of the 70s is invoked, and the diverse participants – from old ’68 hippies to 90s party girls – delve deep into this world.
But then the unthinkable happens – a murder amidst an atmosphere of love, peace, and bliss. A lifeless figure lies in the white sand. Who pushed Marie Juana over the cliff? Was it a desire to take off, or is there more to it? Was it even an accident? Discover the truth and help the detective duo Schall and Rauch uncover the truth between mantras and mackerel.
